Improper plates leads to late night stop of Sanford man with 5 arrest warrants

LYMAN, Maine - A Sanford man with five outstanding arrest warrants against him was taken into custody early today after a YCSO deputy noticed he was driving a car with the wrong plates.

The traffic stop occurred around 2 a.m. on the Kennebunk Pond Road in Lyman when the deputy noticed Cedric Murley, 28, of Sanford was driving in a Chevrolet pickup with plates that were assigned to a Ford Escort.

Murley was found to be operating after his license was suspended, violating conditions of release on a previous charge and illegal attachment of registration plates.

It was then discovered he had five outstanding warrants on various other charges. His was remanded to York County Jail where bail was set at $2,891 pending a Monday morning arraignment.
