MILTON MILLS - We have good news for our patrons who use the interlibrary loan system to get books from libraries across New Hampshire! Some of you may remember that the state's prior automated interlibrary loan system stopped working over a year ago - and since then libraries from every corner of the state have worked closely together to get folks the books they need by searching individual catalogs and using the phone and email.

Well now, with the new system, patrons will be able to undertake their own searches and requests! Instead of waiting until the library is open, you can browse and make requests on your own. Don't worry, we are here to help you navigate this new system, and in the meantime, if you're eager to get started, here's a YouTube tutorial (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=9299bf55d2&e=e62757964d) which explains the process. Patrons who are reading a series or interested in multiple books by the same author will especially appreciate the ability to create and save lists to your account.

Heat at the Library

We're not saying you will need a fuzzy winter hat at the library, but we're not saying you won't either. It depends on the weather. Unfortunately, our furnace has fallen on hard times and needs to be replaced. As we head into the next few cooler weeks, we might be adjusting our hours depending on how chilly it gets. Please be patient, and keep an eye on our Facebook page (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=f91a5e6a15&e=e62757964d) or give us a call at (603) 473-8535 for the latest information. Thank you!.

Don't forget the following upcoming events!

* Our annual children's Halloween party will take place on Saturday, October 26, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Come show off your costumes!

* The 3D printer will be back in the library on October 29 through November 16.

* Story time resumes on Thursday mornings.

Betsy Baker is the head librarian at MFPL.
