BARRINGTON - Jamison Knight Minor, 21 of Barrington, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., with his family at his bedside following a motorcycle racing accident. Jamison was born on March 12, 1996 in Dover, N.H., the son of Scott Minor and Kari (Jackson) Elliott.
Jamison attended Dover High School for three years and moved to Lancaster, Pa., in 2013 where he graduated at Hempfield High School.
Jamison's life was all about his family and racing dirt bikes. He was riding a Suzuki JR 50 when he was two years old. Started racing motocross at six years old and at the age of 10 he started Flat Track racing. Flat Track racing became his life. Jamison traveled all over the country meeting new people and building his flat track family. He was known as a smooth, trusted rider. "He was impressive on and off the race track, with a positive, upbeat attitude that showed the markings of a future star," said Michael Lock, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. Jamison started racing for JMC Motorsports in 2017 for Jay Maloney and Jake Constantine who became like brothers to Jamison. Jamison played hockey for Dover Youth Hockey for nine years. He loved crossfit, cycling and training for races. Jamison was a movie buff and would recite movie lines. He enjoyed music and would often sing while traveling to the races. Jamison worked at Bryan's Cycle Center in Ephrata, Pa., where he enjoyed working on motorcycles.
Jamison is survived by his parents Scott Minor and Kari Elliott; his sister Jazmyn Minor and brother Chandler Elliott; his stepmom Maggie Carney and Stepdad Keith Elliott; his Grandparents Larry and Patricia Minor, Craig and Kim Jackson; his Great Grandparents Fred and Roberta Knight and Ina Jackson; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Jamison is predeceased by his Great Grandparents Carl and Marian Coolbaugh and Fred Jackson.
