ROCHESTER - Janice E. Purington, 86, of Sampson Road, died on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Born in Strawberry, Vt. on April 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George Sunderland and Myrtle (Drown) Sunderland, and is predeceased by her husband, Robert George Purington.
Janice worked as a cashier for Kmart and served as a Gray Lady after WWII. She was a resident of Rochester for most of her life.
She is survived by her companion of 35 years, Raymond Tucker; sons, David Purington, Seattle, Wash., Jon Purington, Rochester; sister, Beverly Zwick, Rochester; grandchildren Robert, Eric and Christina Purington as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her son, Alan Purington.
