ROCHESTER - Joan Barker, 88, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Rochester Manor. Born August 15, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of Frederick J. and May (Clark) Pritchett, she resided on Highland Street in East Rochester since 2008, resided in Clearwater/St. Petersburg area in Florida for 20 years and previously resided in Middleton, N.H., since 1968.
Widow of the late George B. Barker, who died in 2012, she was a loving homemaker and mother, known as "Namina" to her dear family.
Joan enjoyed swimming, knitting, crocheting, quilting, cooking, bird watching, also fishing with "Dad" and moose watching in Pittsburg, N.H.
Survived by her four beloved children: Donna (Mike) Tarmey, Kathleen (Fred) Allfrey, John (Teena) Barker, Michael Petersen, two stepsons: George B. Barker, Jr. and Judi, Richard (Kathy) Barker, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much, a brother Fred Pritchitt, a sister Kathleen Christiana, also several nieces and nephews and her special bff Connie Bickford. Predeceased by her daughter Joanne Marie Barker and sister Helene Kutzler.
