ROCHESTER - John Lee Myers, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the age of 85. John was surrounded by his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly. He was born in Bloomington, Ill. on Dec. 11 1932, son of Leo and Catherine Myers of Kittery, Maine.
John married the love of his life Marge Dorr of Rochester. John proudly served in the Army from 1953 to 1961 and was a veteran of the Korean War. John worked until retirement in local 131 of the Pipe Fitters and Steam Fitters Union. He was an avid HAM radio operator, and talked to people all around the world.
John is survived by Mark and Bonnie Myers of Middleton, Tim and Michelle Sinclair of Middleton, Dale and Lisa Blattner of Rochester.
John is also survived by grandchildren Ryan Myers and daughter Mackenzie of Farmington, Brandy and Josh Smith and son Hunter of Wakefield, Nicole and Robert Huntress and son Ethan of Middleton, Tyler and Jeremy Sinclair of Newton. Dale Blattner of Rochester, Logan Blattner of Farmington, Derek and Augustini Blattner and son Darren of Fairfax, Va., Troy and Mercy Blattner of Rochester, Sarah Blattner of Somersworth. He is the brother of Diane Myers of California, and Linda Myers-Tierney of Massachusetts.
