ROCHESTER - Jon L. Breen died on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. A Dover native born November 28, 1935, Jon was a Marine and then a journalist. He worked in the editorial department of the Nashua Telegraph and Foster's Daily Democrat, retiring in 2010.
Jon loved the politics of New Hampshire. He worked with Congressmen James Cleveland and Louis Wyman, as well as with the Gerald Ford campaign. In 1980, during his time with the Nashua Telegraph, he moderated a presidential debate. As a youth, he raced cars and remained a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. He was a past president of Temple Israel in Dover.
He is remembered by his loving family: wife Sally of Rochester, stepson Bradley Collette and his wife Judy Silva of Allenstown, stepson Joseph Collette and his partner Joseph Miele of Candia, grandson Jeremy Collette of Worcester, Mass., granddaughter Michelle Collette and great-grandson Matthew Collette of Hampton. He was predeceased by stepson Victor Collette and leaves his daughter in-law Judy Collette and granddaughter Katie Collette of Rumford, Maine. He was also predeceased by his mother Goldie and his father Ambrose Breen.
