ROCHESTER - Joseph A. DeBellis, 68, of Rochester, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at home after a brief illness. He was born August 26, 1948 in Ausonia, Italy, the son of Anthony and Anna (Sabahat) DeBellis. He has resided in Rochester for the past 13 years previously living 20 years in Dover.
Joseph was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years then worked for Harris Graphics Company as a second shift supervisor. He was an avid NASCAR fan enjoyed camping and loved tinkering in his garage, making toys for his grandchildren. He enjoyed anything to do with airplanes but especially loved spending time with his family.
Members of his family include his wife of 45 years, Karen (Merrill) DeBellis; son, Anthony DeBellis and wife Trisha, Rochester; daughter, Jennifer Dodge and husband Matt, Suffolk, Va.; grandchildren, Emily, Molly, Anthony, Aidan, Alex and Cameron; sister, Angela Tenore and husband Renato, Yonkers, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Anna Marie DeBellis and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, John DeBellis.
