Joseph R. Garland ... loved telling a good joke

ROCHESTER - Joseph R. Garland, 64, of Rochester, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born July 24, 1953 in San Diego, California the son of Donald and Julia (Williams) Garland.
Joseph was a hard-working man who loved being with his family and could tell a good joke.
Members of his family include his wife of 31 years, Cynthia (Nance) Garland of Rochester; two sons, Joseph Garland of Rochester and Richard Garland and his wife, Brooke of Dover; one granddaughter, Madelyn Garland; siblings, Donna Spencer of Rochester, Phil Garland of Rochester, Julie Stevens of Sanford, Maine, Peggy Shepherd of Rochester, Laura DuBay of Wakefield, Donald Garland, Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia and David Garland of Wells, Maine; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
