ROCHESTER - The first Brown Bag Concert will be on Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Central Square in the heart of downtown Rochester. The featured performers are the trio "Just By Chance," led by local businessman Bill Cormier. Central Square is located just off of Wakefield Street at the statue of Parson Main. Free parking is available in the Union Street Parking lot and City Hall parking lots. Guests are invited to "bring a chair and bring or buy a lunch and enjoy some music in the heart of downtown."

The Factory Court Brown Bag Concerts will run on Fridays, through August 28. In addition to the concerts there are two children's events: A Teddy Bear Picnic on July 29 and a Wildlife Encounter on Aug. 12. Both children's events take place in Central Square from noon to 1 p.m .

The final concert in the series on Aug. 28, The Fiddling Thomsons, is at Central Square and will include a "build your own sundae" ice cream social for a $3 donation. In case of inclement weather the concerts will be canceled and the performers will be featured at other Main Street events. For a full listing of the concerts go to http://www.rochestermainstreet.org/ or follow Rochester Main Street on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Rochester Main Street announced on Friday that Citizen's Bank has awarded a $1,200 sponsorship to Rochester Main Street in support of the Factory Court Brown Bag Concert Series.

The Citizens Bank sponsorship matches a grant of $1,250 received from the N.H. State Council on the Arts to feature New Hampshire Traditional Artists as part of the 12 event series, along with Rochester Main Street funding.

"Investing in the communities where we live and work is at the core of who we are as a company," said Wanda Walker, branch manager, Citizens Bank, Rochester. "Supporting the Factory Court Brown Bag Concert Series is one way we can give back to the community and help to drive downtown foot traffic."
