NEWINGTON - Kimberly S, Hislop, 37, of Newington, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital due to complications from diabetes after what she would say was "living her best life" despite her daily fight.
She was born on December 15, 1981 in Hanover, to Alan and Susan (Ballard) Johnson of Farmington. Kim was a graduate of Oyster River High School, Class of 2000 and attended Stetson University in Deland, Fla.
Kim was a peer counselor, as a kind-hearted person, she was always reaching out to help others get through challenges in their respective lives.
She was an advocate for organ donation; was a supporter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation); active with Friends For Life; was a moderator for Future In Sight; and was a member of the Portsmouth Lions Club.
Kim would tell you that her life was a beautiful storm. She found a rainbow almost every day of her life. She was a loving wife, fur baby mom, daughter, sister, and devoted aunt to her three nephews and niece. Kim loved her life, her family, friends, and her animals. Her passion was to travel and share as many experiences as possible with her friends and family. She especially loved her family and friend trips to Disney World.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Sandy Hislop.
Besides her husband Daniel Hislop of Newington, survivors include her parents Alan and Susan Johnson of Farmington, her grandmother, June Johnson of Tampa, FL; sister, Ashley Child and her husband, Tyler of Dover; mother-in-law, Jane Hislop of Newington; brother-in-law, Andrew Hislop of Newington; nieces and nephews, Weston, Bennett, Rafferty and Everly Child; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services: A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Newington Town Hall, Newington, New Hampshire on June 15, 2019 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Future In Sight, 25 Walker St, Concord, NH 03301 or at www.futureinsight.org.
Interment will be held privately at a later date.
