ROCHESTER - A Kittery woman was injured in a two-car crash on Monday when she was rear-ended by another vehicle on Milton Road.

Rochester Police got the call around 12:10 p.m. responding to the area of Jarvis Avenue.

After a brief investigation it was found that Lynn Shaffer, 60, of Kittery, Maine, was operating a 2014 Ford Transit southbound on Milton Road, and while stopped in traffic to turn left onto Jarvis Avenue, was struck from behind by a 2011 Chevrolet HHR operated by Donn Babel, 64, of Milton.

Shaffer was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries. Babel was uninjured.

Both vehicles suffered significant damage.

Babel was issued a summons for following too closely, which is a violation.
