ROCHESTER - Lawrence E. Serven, 87, formerly of 2 North Dewberry Lane, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Dover Rehab and Living Center. He was born October 28, 1930 in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late George and Evelyn (Anderson) Serven.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He has resided here since 1983 coming from Dover, N.H. Lawrence worked as a landscaper for Lilac City Estates and was also a longtime Master electrician. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Rochester and a longtime member of Alcohol Anonymous known as "Big Book Larry".
Members of his family include children, Lawrence E. and wife Virginia Serven, George H. and wife Barbara Serven and Evelyn T. and husband Alvaro Rezendes; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Lieselotte Serven; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Patricia Plummer.
