LEBANON - Lebanon's 250th Celebration parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the old library at the corner of Heath and Center roads.

Several floats will be part of the parade as well as Lebanon Fire and Rescue vehicles and several private businesses.

The grand marshal of Saturday's parade is longtime Lebanon Historical Society member and prominent Lebanon resident Barbara Sewell, who was instrumental in writing of town history books and pamphlets.

Fellow Historical Society member and Lebanon 250 Committee chair Nancy Wyman will announce the various parade entrants from her vantage point near the corner of Center and Upper Guinea Road as cars and marchers near the end of the route at Bull Field next to Hanson School.

The opening ceremony is expected to begin around 1 p.m. at Bull Field with much pomp and ceremony, including Presentation of the Colors, reading of the Pledge of Allegiance and firing of Eliot Artillery cannon by Steven Wanager.

There will also be an invocation by Pastor Jeff Rutland of the West Lebanon Church and welcoming remarks by Wyman.

A highlight of the ceremony will be the crowning of the King and Queen of the festival, Patrick and Jennifer Greenlaw.

For more information on the schedule refer to Thursday's posting on The Lebanon Voice's Lebanon Page.
