ALFRED, Maine - A Lebanon, Maine, man has been indicted on 57 counts of burglary and theft that occurred throughout York County between February 2015 and January 2017, including 18 that occurred on a single day in the town of York.

John P. Daley, 54, with a Lebanon PO Box listed as his only address on indictments handed down on Tuesday, is accused of breaking into 18 different seasonal residences in the town of York on Jan. 6.

York Police Sgt. Brian Curtin said today that the residences allegedly broken into are all in one spot in town and all seasonal.

Meanwhile, the other 39 indictments are from various locations all over York County and were investigated by the York County Sheriff's Office, which was not immediately available for comment.

All 57 counts are either Class B or C felonies, which are punishable by up to 10 years, or at least five years, respectively.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
