ALFRED, Maine - A Lebanon man has been indicted on domestic violence charges stemming from an October incident in Lebanon.

Joseph P. Irvine, 50, of 672 River Road, was formally charged with four counts: aggravated assault, DV assault, obstruction in reporting a crime and criminal restraint in the Oct. 28 incident. The most serious charge, aggravated assault, can carry up to a 10-year prison sentence.

The York County grand jury indictments were handed down Tuesday and released to the public on Wednesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
