DOVER - A Lebanon man has been indicted on two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault in connection with his alleged yearlong abuse of a female child.

David A. Shaw, 47, of 294 Lower Guinea Road, is accused of committing the assaults that included various sex acts between Aug. 1, 2015, and Aug. 22, 2016, in the town of Barrington.

The indictment alleges that Shaw engaged in a "pattern of sexual assault" against the victim during the more than 12-month timeframe.

The Lebanon Voice will not release the exact date of birth of the alleged victim due to privacy concerns, however one of the indictments refer to her as under the age of 13.

Both counts carry maximum prison sentences of 30 years apiece.

Shaw's arraignment in Strafford County Superior Court is set for Feb. 1.

The indictments were handed down on Thursday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
