LEBANON, Maine - Lebanon's Board of Selectmen will have a decidedly different look after June elections with the addition of two selectmen to the town's main governing body.
Lebanon voters approved the change 1,234-1,071 on Tuesday.
Corinna Cole, who led the citizen's petition drive for the change, said today she was "excited for the town of Lebanon" and looking forward to the implementation of the petition next spring.
"I think this will give the people of Lebanon more voice and more representation," she said. "Now we'll be able to accomplish more and hopefully less will fall through the cracks."
In other Lebanon voting, residents decided against letting selectmen appoint a road commissioner, 1,634-662; and to force write-in candidates to declare their candidacy, 1,343-871.
Voters also approved warrant site plan review and disbursement warrant ordinances.
A Tent and RV parks ordinance and acceptance of a gift of Fire Station 1 were also both handily approved
