ROCHESTER - Lena R. Hodgdon, 93, went to rest with the Lord peacefully at her home in Rochester, N.H., surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 8, 2017. She was born September 15, 1923, in Harrisville, N.H., to Ernest Brazeau and Adelia (Jalbert) Brazeau and was the youngest of three children.
She lived her life through simple pleasures of chatting with friends and family and watching her soap operas. She was very devoted to her family and to the church and found special companionships with her beloved feline friends. Lena was a lifetime resident of Rochester and was determined to live life on her terms as she battled cancer since 1973.
Predeceased by her parents, brother Raymond Brazeau, sister Dorothy LePage and her son Levi Hodgdon.
Surviving family, a daughter Lynn Hanscom and husband Forrest of Rochester, N.H., with two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; granddaughter; Angela Dion of Rochester, N.H.; with her four children; Kyle Hanscom, CPL Nathaniel Hanscom USMC, Kyanna Hanscom and Jordan Hanscom; granddaughter; Jackie Hanscome and husband Patrick of Barrington, N.H.; with their their children Isabella Hanscome, Arhiana Hanscome and Ciara Hanscome, along with several nieces and nephews.
Lena will be remembered as a bright, shining light with a spunky attitude and lots of stories and silly songs, in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
