MILTON - A longtime and beloved Milton Moose member who had recently retired to Florida was injured a week ago in a deadly Orlando crash that claimed the life of his girlfriend.
Robert H. Coulombe, 77, formerly of Northeast Pond Road, was said to be in good condition today at Orlando Regional Medical Center, a nursing supervisor said.
The Feb. 22 crash claimed the life of 66-year-old Marsha Larsen, who was driving a 2004 Nissan pickup truck around 7:30 p.m. when it collided with a 2018 three-wheeled slingshot motorcycle in the Pine Castle neighborhood.
The front of the motorcycle struck the left side of the truck, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.
Larsen and the driver of the motorcycle, 31-year-old Alex Acevedo, both died at the hospital, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The nursing supervisor today said Coulombe, a passenger in the truck, was "doing well."
Coulombe, a former crane company owner and longtime Milton Moose member, had owned a home in Milton for many years.
Milton Moose administrator Jeff Theriault said today the lodge was "devastated" by the news of the accident.
Meanwhile, dozens of comments of love and sympathy filled Coulombe's Facebook page wishing him a speedy recovery from injuries sustained in the crash.
