Lyman home invasion, sex assault nets 4 arrests

LYMAN, Maine - Maine State Police say four men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion in Lyman last week in which a family of five was held at gunpoint and one of them was sexually assaulted.

Stolen from the home on Mast Road were guns, money, medical marijuana and electronic equipment, said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Dept. of Safety.

Arrested in New Hampshire in the past two days were Xavier Watson, 22, of Brentwood, N.H. Andre Thomas, 20, of Lawrence, Mass., Vincent Casazza, 19, from Newmarket, Mass.

Maine Troopers have been working with the U S Marshal Service's Violent Offenders Task Force and Nashua Police to locate the men and arrest them.

Watson was taken into custody by the federal task force on Tuesday in Brentwood and Thomas and Casazza were arrested overnight Wednesday in Nashua by Nashua Police.

The fourth suspect was arrested on Thursday in Lowell, Mass. He is 23-year-old Reynan Mora of Lowell. Assisting with that arrest was the Massachusetts State and Lowell Police. Found with Mora were some of the items taken from the Lyman home.

The four will face charges of burglary, robbery and theft of a firearm once they are returned to Maine. In addition Watson will also be charged with aggravated assault and unlawful sexual contact.

Watson is currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail. All four now face extradition proceedings to return them to Maine.

Trooper Jonathan Heimbach, who headed up the investigation, said the incident began when four men entered the home in Lyman last Friday and held the occupants at gunpoint as they ransacked the house.
