ROCHESTER - Madeleine Fortier, 83, died on Friday, April 27 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Madeleine was born July 27, 1934 in Springvale, Maine the daughter of the late Armand and Leontine (Deschine) Morin.
Madeleine retired from Eastern Air Devices in Dover in 1998. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling by air, sea, bus, and train with her late husband Paul and spending time with family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting her neighbors in the tight knit community of Tara Estates.
Madeleine is survived by her three daughters, Elaine of Rochester, Melanie Cantin of Berwick, Maine, and Aimee Nicely and her husband Conrod of Berwick, Maine; her four grandsons, Justin Cantin and wife Elizabeth, Jared Cantin and wife Leigh, Joshua Cantin and wife Cassy, and C.J. Nicely; one granddaughter, Emily Nicely; two great grandsons, Bryce and Greyson Cantin; two great granddaughters, Kinsley and Brystol Cantin; sisters, Doris Drouin of Rochester, Rita Rix of North Berwick, Maine, Mary Anne, Mary Emma, and Bernadette Morin from Springvale, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
Madeleine was predeceased by her husband Paul, her only son Paul (P.J.) Fortier, and her son-in-law of 42 years Roger P. Cantin.
