ALFRED, Maine - A Porter woman was arrested on Sunday after police say she stabbed another woman who was pregnant during a melee that began between their male partners.

YCSO deputies got involved around 11:30 p.m. after they responded to calls that a pregnant woman had been stabbed repeatedly during an altercation in Parsonsfield, York County Sheriff said in a press release sent today.

Deputies were also advised that the woman was being transported to the hospital by her husband.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the victim and her husband were involved in a social media argument in which threats were exchanged with another couple. The four ended up agreeing to meet at the old Box Shop on Sokokis Road in Parsonsfield.

After arriving at the old Box Shop the argument continued and escalated into a physical altercation between the victim's husband and another man. The victim's husband was getting the best of his mutual combatant when the man's fiancée, Danielle Emery, 18, of Porter interceded and kicked the victim's husband.

The pregnant woman then got into a physical altercation with Emery, who produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.

The content of the social media posts clearly demonstrated that it was common knowledge that the victim was pregnant. Later police learned she was 20 weeks pregnant.

The victim, who was having difficulty breathing, was rushed to Bridgton Hospital and later flown to Central Maine Medical Center by Life Flight of Maine.

Emery was arrested for Elevated Aggravated Assault with a York County Superior Court date of Aug. 23. Her bail was set at $50,000 and she will be arraigned via video today.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the victim or whether the fetus was affected or not.
