BEDFORD, N.H. - The Massachusetts man wanted in connection with the theft of a Girl Scout cookie cash box last month in Rochester was arrested on Tuesday by New Hampshire State Troopers during a traffic stop on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.

Pierre Thibault 20, of 127 Winter St., Apt #23 Haverhill, was stopped around 1 a.m. and determined to be wanted in the March 27 incident that occurred outside Walgreen's Drug on South Main Street.

Thibault faces a Class A misdemeanor charge punishable by a year in jail.

He was arrested and processed on the Rochester warrant by New Hampshire State Police and released on personal recognizance bail pending an arraignment on May 18 in the 7th Circuit Court Rochester Division.

Thibault also incurred additional unspecified charges by State Police as a result of the traffic stop, in which he was a passenger in the car stopped.

Thibault is alleged to have grabbed the Girl Scout cookie money box from where the Scouts were selling the sweet confections, then fled in a green Toyota allegedly driven by Kayla Lonergan of Rochester.

Lonergan, 19, of Common Street, was arrested on March 29 and arraigned on criminal liability for the conduct of another, namely Thibault, as well as other charges.

She is being held on $7,500 cash bail pending a June trial date and faces a year in jail on a bail violation charge. As of Tuesday Lonergan had not made bail and was still being held at Strafford County House of Correction.
