ROCHESTER - A man wanted by police who pulled up next to a fully marked Rochester cruiser Monday afternoon before running a red light ended up being arrested on several charges including felony drug possession.

It all began around 4:35 p.m. when Officer Jacob Benjamin was on patrol traveling south on South Main Street when he came to a stop for the red light in the right lane at the Columbus Avenue intersection.

At the same time a Nissan Versa came to a stop next to him in the left lane. While the traffic light was still red, the Nissan proceeded straight through the red light, so Benjamin activated his blue emergency lights in order to stop the Nissan.

The Nissan then turned left into the Walgreen's parking lot, passed several empty parking spots, and continued to the back side of Walgreens before coming to a complete stop.

The lone male operator initially provided a false name, however Benjamin soon identified the driver as Seth Laurion, 22, of 58 Davis Crossing, New Durham, who had an active warrant from Rochester Police for Willful Concealment from a March 18 incident at Walmart.

Laurion also had a suspended license.

He was also charged with felony possession of controlled/narcotic drug believed to be crystal meth and was currently out on bail from Farmington Police for a March 21 arrest, so he was also charged with contempt.

Laurion was held on $3,500 cash bail and is scheduled for arraignment later today.
