Manhunt on for convict who stabbed woman, officer

SANFORD, Maine - The Sanford Police Department is warning the public that a man convicted for stabbing a former girlfriend and a police officer is on the loose and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Christopher William Gonyer, 40, fled the Biddeford probation office on Nov. 4 and has not been seen since.

Gonyer is on probation for three counts of aggravated assault and assault on an officer stemming from a 2006 incident in which he stabbed the mother of his kids and a Sanford police officer.

Gonyer's probation has been revoked. He has ties to Sanford and Old Orchard Beach, Maine, as well as Haverhill, Mass., and Sandwich, N.H.

Anyone who may have information as to Gonyer's whereabouts is urged to call Detective Eric Small at 207-324-9170, Ext 227. After hours call the Sanford Police Department at 207-324-3644.
