ROCHESTER - New Hampshire's Maple Weekend is set for tomorrow and Sunday and there are at least two Rochester farms that will be open for folks to come by and see what maple sugaring is all about.

Meader Heritage Farm will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of sugaring going on, said employee Kaylee Bennett.

She said the farm's Belgian horses will be out front to meet and greet the guests, and sugaring demonstrations will be available in the sugar house for anyone who wants to find out how maple sugar and all the goodies associated with it are made.

Bennett said they'd have all sorts of maple products for sale, including maple snow cones, maple cotton candy, granulated maple sugar, maple cream, which is like a butter spread for your toast; and even maple cream candles and maple body scrub as well as syrup.

Meader Heritage Farm is located at 23 Meaderboro Road.

Meanwhile, Matt Scruton of Ten Rod Farm said they'd be open both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

He said folks can tour the sugar house and watch them boiling the sap down to maple syrup.

Scruton, who said the sugaring's been pretty successful this year, said children will enjoy meeting the farm animals they have, plus there will be maple sugaring demos showing how it's made and free samples of maple products like maple cotton candy, maple cream, maple coated walnuts and pecans, maple candy and of course, maple syrup.

Ten Rod Farm is located at 195 Ten Rod Road.
