DOVER - Marilyn P. Walker, 80, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Watson Fields after a long illness. Born April 29, 1936, in Methuen, Mass., she is the daughter of Lewis and Edith (Woolley) Potter.
She is a graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Mass., Lowell Teachers College in Lowell, Mass., and Salem State College in Salem, Mass. She spent many years as a reading teacher around Northern New England. She taught in Salem, N.H., and in Sanford and Hiram, Maine. She was also a reading consultant for the Scott Foresman Textbook Publishing Co.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafts, singing, and playing with her two young granddaughters. She was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in East Rochester.
Members of her family include her husband Colby G. Walker Jr., of Dover, her son Colby Walker III and his wife Kim of Rollinsford, her granddaughters Lianne and Lauren Walker of Rollinsford, her stepchildren Dr. Dale Walker, Lynne Sykes, David, Carol and Alan Walker, and a sister in-law, Shirley Potter. She is predeceased by a sister, Melda Lambert and a brother, Robert Potter.
