Marshals corral city fugitive after foot pursuit

CONCORD, N.H. - A Rochester man wanted on probation violation was arrested by U.S. Marshals after a footchase outside a Norway Plains residence.

Jeremy Jackson, 24, of Rochester, was on probation for an original conviction and sentence for forgery. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took on this case because Jackson has an extensive criminal history, including violence, drugs and resisting arrest.

Members of the task force had been looking for Jackson in the Somersworth and Rochester areas all morning and were setting up a surveillance position on Norway Plains in Rochester they spotted Jackson in the parking lot walking towards the woods.

Jackson fled into the woods after Marshalls ordered him to stop.

He was pursued, subdued and put under arrest after a short footchase.

Jackson was transported to Strafford County Jail, where he will be held pending his initial court appearance in the Strafford County Superior Court.
