Say it ain's snow.

Yet another powerful snowstorm is on the Northern Seacoast doorstep today promising up to two feet of snow and likely to prompt area-wide school closings for Tuesday.

Snow is expected to start Tuesday around 2 a.m. locally, with winds ramping up to their peak of 30 mph around noon on Tuesday. Some gusts could hit 40 mph.

Snow total predictions vary widely depending on the sources, but it appears we could be talking from 10-14 inches, with some areas getting near two feet. The coast is expected to be hardest hit.

As compared with recent storms, this one will be a long affair, lasting till into early Wednesday.

Waste Management already canceled its Tuesday trash pickups in Rochester with a one-day delay in effect the rest of the week.

Area schools had not been officially canceled as of this posting, but likely will be later tonight.

Rochester and Milton both have enacted winter parking bans tonight.

Significant blowing and drifting of snow can be expected with some whiteouts possible.

Blizzard conditions, in which heavy snow and strong winds last for three hours or more are also likely.

The storm may undergo the dreaded bombogenesis later tonight, which is when a storm undergoes rapid strengthening, especially over water.
