McDonald's franchisees across New Hampshire will spearhead a fund-raising effort on Wednesday to donate $50,000 to the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police.
McDonald's customers can lend their support by purchasing a meal at their neighborhood McDonald's from 4-7 p.m.
All 54 McDonald's restaurants across New Hampshire have committed to donating, and a percentage of the evening's sales from customers will be given to the New Hampshire association.
"McDonald's franchisees across New Hampshire are proud to show our continued support for all the Police Departments statewide. Through this unique fund-raising event, we raised nearly $52,000 in 2016 and look to raise $50,000 again this year," said Peter Napoli, local McDonald's Owner/Operator. "As business owners, we see the positive impact the police have on our communities and residents, protecting us day in and day out, and we're proud to raise funds so they can operate at their highest level."
During the fundraiser, a local area police officer and a cruiser will be on site at each McDonald's from 4 to 7 p.m. The officers will meet and greet families and children in addition to providing educational tips and information to customers.
McDonald's will also recognize several officers throughout the state who go above and beyond in the line of duty as well as those officers who are highly invested in the community.
The New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police is a 501 (c) (6) organization with a focus on public safety and elevating the standards of police service and the advancement of the highest ethical and professional standards.
The money raised through this event will assist in providing high-quality law enforcement training and the continued development of the profession of law enforcement toward the police's efforts in supporting the communities they serve.
Pat Sullivan, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police, added, "The New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police enjoyed participating in the McDonald's inaugural fundraising effort in 2016 and looks forward to partnering with McDonald's again this year. This effort raises money for continued training programs that allow us to best maintain the safety of New Hampshire residents. We also appreciate the opportunity to interact with local families and community members to shed light on our jobs in law enforcement, building one-on-one connections."
