To the voters of Milton & Milton Mills:

The Friends of the Milton Free Public Library urge the voters to support Warrant Article 6 in the March 8th election. This article asks for $24,000.00 to support the continuing restoration of our historic town-owned building. The structure itself is recognized as historically important and unique to the history of the State of New Hampshire.

Laurie Palmiera, Library Trustee, has spectacular success in writing grants and that money has propelled the long list of required restoration items toward completion. Also, thanks to Pat Smith and the town's crew who make sure we get full value for every dollar spent. There is indeed "light at the end of the tunnel" - if this Warrant Article succeeds in adding to the Capital Reserve Fund for the Library, the list may be complete this year. Additionally, we are fortunate to have the second story floor in process of refinishing as an Eagle Scout project by David Bloser.

The structure is a source of pride to our community, but the heart of the Library is the staff and services provided to our citizens. The number of patrons is at an all-time high. Borrow books on site or through inter-library loan, videos, books on tape, magazines, utilize wi-fi and our computers, download books and other media. Families are discovering the opportunities of using the new hands-on, imaginative "Build It" equipment (a grant written by Library Assistant Ruth Gutman). There's something for everyone here. Please show your support March 8th and vote "YES" on Warrant Article 6.
