ROCHESTER - Michael J. Fitzpatrick ("Fitzie"), 61, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, N.H., after a period of failing health.
Fitzie was born in Rochester, N.H., on December 7, 1954, the son of William J. and Jean E. (Nevers) Fitzpatrick and was a lifelong resident of Rochester. He proudly served as a member of the Marine Corps. After receiving an honorable discharge for his military service, Fitzie had a long and successful career in the cable and fiber optics industry, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. But, what he loved most was spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his two precious grandchildren.
Surviving members of his family include his son, Michael J. Fitzpatrick, Jr., and his fiancée Jamie Lovell, and their children, Michael J. III and Zoey Fitzpatrick, all of Rochester, N.H.; two sisters, Nancy Dyer and her husband, Richard, of Lebanon, Maine; and Roberta Fenton and her husband, Dennis, of Gilford, N.H.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Fitzie was predeceased by a sister, Penelope Bissaillon.
