ROCHESTER - Michael P. Meattey, 70, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Veterans Hospital in West Roxbury, Mass. Born July 18, 1948 in Dover, he was the son of the late Edward Meattey and Rita (Chamberlain) Eldridge.
Mr. Meattey served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He later worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Michael enjoyed working on his cars, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Members of his family include his children Charlene Marrero and husband Johnny of Rochester, Amanda Miglionico of Somersworth, Brandon Meattey of Lee, and Nancy Ann Freeman and husband James of Summerville, S.C.; his grandchildren Edward, Joseph, Tyler, Jenessa, Jason, Braedon, Emily, Autum, Harlie, and Madison; great-grandchildren AJ, Aaliyah, Chase and Adrianna, his siblings Paul Eldridge, Robert Meattey, Edward Meattey Barbara Bonefant, Helen Sevigny, and Linette Remick; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Michael P. Meattey, Jr., and his sisters Joyce Gisendasser, Dorothy Meattey, and Kathleen Meattey.
