ROCHESTER - Michael Roberts, 58, of Rochester died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born April 3, 1958, in Rochester, the son of the late J. Bruce and June (Ryan) Roberts. Michael was a lifelong devoted Rochester resident. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church of Rochester where he was a cantor in the choir and past Rochester Library trustee.
Michael was a graduate of Nasson College with a degree in the Arts. Michael loved the arts singing, painting and acting. He was a part of Arts Rochester for many years performing in plays both acting and singing. He loved the many friends he was able to connect with through Vern, his best friend. Michael's life was fulfilled being among all of the friends they shared together along with the many trips they enjoyed. His infectious smile although mischievous will be deeply missed by his family, friends , customers and co-workers during his years at Lowes and Kmart.
Members of his family include his sister, Susan Frazier and her husband Brian of Meredith; sister-in-law, Monique Roberts of Rochester; Michelle Messenger and husband Greg of Strafford; Kelley Bedard and husband Jim of Lebanon, Maine; nieces and nephews, Melanie and Dustin Harper, Sgt. Chad Frazier, Kaitlyn and Kris Dumont, Jennifer Roberts, Matthew and Katie Messenger, Garrett, Gage, and Trent Bedard, great niece, Peyton Mae Harper; great nephew, Landon Dumont. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Guy and Kevin Roberts, and best friend, Vern.
