Middle school Fun Fan Fiction contest winners named

MILTON MILLS - The Friends of the Milton Free Public Library announceD the winners of the 2018 Middle School Fun Fan Fiction Contest on Thursday.
This year the Friends of MFPL had many good entries from which to choose and were pleased by the level of effort these students displayed.
Jerrell Stocker wrote a graphic and complex addition to Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars. The judges were pleasantly surprised to encounter this classic piece of Science Fiction and awarded Jerrell $25 for a strong 3rd place showing.
Ava Moses garnered a 2nd place showing - and $50 - for her clarification of a scene from Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. The judges liked Ms. Moses's style and, because of her writing, wanted to read more from the Riordan series.
Abigail Hampton changed the ending of Michael Buckley's The Sisters Grimm with a profound plot twist to win the 1st prize of $75. The judges were impressed by Abigail's ability to fully develop characters.
