DOVER - A Milton man is facing up to seven years in state prison after his indictment on domestic violence assault charges first lodged in May.

Roy Cash Jr., of Center Road, is charged with second degree assault in the May 21 incident. Prosecutors say he engaged in strangulation of the victim when he "did apply pressure to (the victim's) throat or neck that caused (the victim) to experience impeded breathing."

The charge is a Class B felony punishable by three and a half to seven years in state prison and a $4,000 fine.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has determined there is enough evidence to move forward to trial.
