GONIC - A Milton man was injured when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve on Pickering Road in Gonic and wound up off the road and in a ditch.

The single-vehicle crash occurred Friday afternoon around 3:10 p.m. when police say a Honda Civic driven by David Cormier, 23, was traveling north on Pickering Road, in the area of some "s-curves" when it went off the shoulder, struck a tree, and ended up in the ditch.

Cormier was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital to be treated for nonlife-threatening, and his vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage, was towed from the scene.
