MILTON - Voting for town elections and ballot question has been postponed till Thursday due to the impending snowstorm.

A notice was posted on the town website Monday afternoon, saying, "The Town/School Moderator made the decision to delay the Milton Town Election till Thursdayth 2017 at the Milton Assembly of God Church located at 370 White Mountain Highway Milton NH. This decision is based on the Moderators concern over public safety for the voters and election workers. Absentee ballots may be obtained on Tuesday March 14th 2017 from 8am to 7pm at Town Hall (424 White Mountain Highway) for those voters who will be unable to vote on Thursday March 16th 2017."

Town officials had been working since early today seeking permission from the Secretary of State, who initially said no to the requests from Milton and many other New Hampshire towns in the same dilemma.

Tuesday's storm is expected to last into Wednesday and dump 12-18 inches of snow during a classic nor'easter.
