Missing Sanford man found confused but OK, officials say

SANFORD - A Sanford man who went missing on Wednesday has been located by Knox County Sheriff's Office personnel and is said to be OK, Sanford Police said today.

Romeo Lapierre, who is mostly deaf and suffers from various medical problems for which he needs medication,

was located inside his car.

He was disoriented, but otherwise OK, a press release noted.

Lapierre had last been seen when he dropped his wife off on Pilgrim Lodge Lane in West Gardiner around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. He was supposed to return home to Sanford the same day.

When Kimberly Kramer-Lapierre contacted neighbors to check on him, she found that he had not returned home. She then notified police who began a search.

The family has been notifed. Lapierre is currently being checked out by the local emergency medical services.
