ROCHESTER - Nathaniel "Skip" Blaisdell, Jr., 67, died Sunday February 19, 2017, at Hyder Hospice House in Dover after a long illness. He was born April 4, 1949 in Rochester the son of the late Nathaniel and June (Copp) Blaisdell.
Skip was a lifelong resident of Rochester. He graduated from Spaulding High School, Class of 1967. He worked for 30 years and retired in 2005 from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard as a sheet metal worker. Skip was an avid gardener and enjoyed bird watching. He especially loved traveling to the Caribbean with his wife, Esther.
The widower of Esther (Varney) Blaisdell who died in 2014 after 45 years of marriage, he is survived by son Todd Blaisdell, Rochester; daughter, Tracy Morgan, Berwick, Maine; grandchildren, Kyle Forest, Caylin Morgan, Brooke Morgan, Brady Blaisdell, Brianna Blaisdell; great grandchild, Zaylynn Forest; sister, Beverly Lambert; mother-in-law, Virginia Varney, brother-in-law, A. Raymond Varney; sister-in-law, Bonnie Lachance, aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brother, Donald Blaisdell and sister, Pamela Blaisdell.
