LEBANON - A Lebanon gun dealer says handgun sales haven't spiked this month after Maine enacted constitutional carry, which allows anyone in good legal standing to carry a concealed handgun without a special permit.

"I thought it would go up a lot," Larry Tuck of Tuck's Gun Shop said today. "I must have bought 20 new handguns thinking it would and nothing."

Tuck said he spent some $5,000 on the new handguns and hopes with Christmas coming maybe he'll sell them but not yet.

Overall, however, he said over the entire year handgun sales are up a bit, with sales divided pretty evenly between men and women.

Tuck, a lifelong Lebanon resident, opened his shop three years ago and has customers all over New England.

He said he tries to keep his prices down to build his customer base.

He carries a full line of shotguns and rifles as well as handguns, including some nifty derringers.

Tuck's Gun Shop is located on Jim Grant Road. For more info go to http://www.manta.com/c/mbyslf9/tucks-firearms.
