New deputies welcomed aboard at Sheriff's Department

DOVER - The Strafford County Sheriff's Office announced today the hiring of two new deputies.

Dale Gargac worked as a member of the NH Fish and Game Department since 2012. He is a full-time certified New Hampshire Police Officer having graduated from the NH Police Academy's 160th session. Gargac served in the Army between 2002 and 2011 and was deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Gargac received his bachelor's in science from Regis University majoring in criminology. He is married and lives in Strafford County.

Mark Brave has been a full-time certified New Hampshire Police Officer since 2015, having graduated from the state Police Academy's 170th session. Brave began his law enforcement career in 2006 with the Merrimack County House of Correction in Boscawen as a Corrections Officer. In 2009 he joined the Lawrence, Mass., Police Department as an Auxiliary Police Officer and then went on to obtain the rank of sergeant in 2011.

Brave moved to New Hampshire where he was hired by the Rochester Police Department and has worked there for over a year. He is married and lives in Strafford County.

Both deputies will be assigned to the Transport Division of the Strafford County Sheriff's Office. As a Deputy in the Transport Division they will be responsible for transport and security dealing with inmates from the county as well as United States Marshals Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

"Deputies Gargac and Brave bring to us a unique skill set that will assist us greatly in providing service to the people of Strafford County," Sheriff David Dubois said.
