New Durham snowmobile club cancels Fairgrounds race

NEW DURHAM - The Powder Mill Snowmobile Club of New Durham, which was scheduled for a race event at the Rochester Fairgrounds, announced on Tuesday that they have had to cancel the event due to warm weather.

In their announcement, club officials said there was still some snow, but that rapid unfreezing of the grounds didn't allow for them to spread snow and build the course in time for Saturday's race, which would have been one of a very few events that had been planned for the struggling Fairgrounds.
