Nute High announces its Top Five graduating seniors

MILTON - Nute High's Top 5 students for the Class of 2018.

Madison Alexander writes, "I am first and foremost thankful for my friends and family that have supported me through this journey. I could not have gotten along without them. I have been lucky enough to have experienced varsity sports, such as basketball and softball, but am extremely thankful for my soccer team. They have pushed me to achieve my very best.

"I have played in the band for 8 years. I have participated in drama club and writing club, which were both taught by Mr. Decker. I would especially like to thank him for always keeping me going and never letting me give up on myself. I am a member of National Honors Society, and I have taken classes at Great Bay Community College, which both helped to shape me for my future," she continues.

"I will be attending Southern New Hampshire University next year, where I was accepted into their University Honors Program. I will be pursuing a major in English Literature and Language, and my hope is to be an English teacher for children in other countries. My dream is to help as many people as I can."

Renée Corriveau/Salutatorian. she is the daughter of Roger and Linda Corriveau. She has been the Secretary of her class for four years, part of the Business Club, and is the current vice president of Student Senate. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and Health Occupation Students of America.

Last year, she was the recipient of the 2017 Harvard Book Award. Renée was part of both the volleyball and softball team during her high school years. This year, she was recognized as an NH Scholar Athlete.

During her senior year, Renée worked to get her Licensed Nursing Assistant to start her dream of going into the medical field. She will be attending Franklin Pierce Universities Honors Program, pursuing her undergraduate in biology with the goal of becoming a physician assistant.

She would like to thank her parents, her brother, her friends and family.

Cade Jenkins is the son of Jonathan and Jessica Jenkins.Cade was class president throughout the four years of high school, as well as a contributing member to the Student Senate. He was member of the National Honor Society for two years, and have participated in Project Search. He played four years of varsity baseball, serving as a team captain his senior year, and participated in the ski club.

Cade held many fundraisers in order to help his class with senior trip, and headed up several volunteer projects such as a town clean-up day. While participating in extracurricular activities, he also own and operate a small landscaping company, starting at the age of just 16. Cade will soon be completing pilot school, which will earn him a private pilot's license.

Cade will be attending Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, with a plan to major in Entrepreneurship.

Kira Hodson is the daughter of Teri and Paul Hodson of Milton. Kira has been the treasurer, secretary and president of Student Senate as well as the treasurer and president of National Honors Society. During her four years at Nute she has participated in Ski Club, Project Search, Business Club, doing the books for the jayvee and varsity volleyball teams and even helping the Friends of Nute in the summertime. She will be attending Suffolk University, and through the Honors program she will be double majoring in Global Business and Marketing. Kira would like to thank her family, friends and her teachers.

Devon Hurley is the daughter of Derek and Joyce Hurley. Devon has been a part of National Honors Society, Student Senate, and Business Club. The past four years she has been a part of volleyball, basketball, and softball. She also has helped build and donate money to a softball field for her high school. She plans on attending Southern New Hampshire University in the fall and wants to double major in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education with the hopes of being a kindergarten teacher.
