ROCHESTER - A 5K road race to honor slain journalist James Foley and raise money for the James W. Foley Foundation is set for Oct. 17 in Rochester.

It was almost a year ago, Aug. 19, that ISIS released a video depicting the callous beheading of Foley, a freelance journalist held captive by the extremist terror group.

His parents, Diane and John Foley, of Rochester, started the foundation to promote his legacy of helping the underprivileged by reporting on their hardships and freedom of the press.

The race will start at the Rochester Fairgrounds, then head down Brock Street, around the Armory and end back at the fairgrounds.

Registration costs $25. For more information see www.foleyrun.org.
