LEBANON - Many hearts were heavy the second day of Lebanon's Green Love Celebration after an attendee died when his pickup truck rolled over on Center Road Friday night, but eventgoers also said they found solace in commiserating as one at Wind Shadows Farm where the festival is being held.

Organizer and farm owner Teri Poirier said on Saturday she was devastated by what had happened, but was thankful to have "so many beautiful people" celebrating medical marijuana and music to help them all get through this tragedy.

The man who died at the scene had just left the festival to drive home renowned local musician Ron Jones, who was slated as the feature entertainment for the three-day festival.

Jones was not seriously injured in the rollover, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the area of 1003 Center Road just a short distance north of the entrance of Berry Best Farm and immediately following an "S" curve.

It appeared the driver had lost control coming out of the curves, safety officials said.

Poirier blamed the accident on torrential rains that had saturated the road Friday afternoon making them greasy. Several serious accidents in New Hampshire were also blamed on the heavy rain.

State Police as of today had issued no press release on the accident, which was noted on the Lebanon Fire and EMS Facebook page.

Despite the tragedy, Poirier said the festival and the music would go on.

More than a dozen bands from around the Northern Seacoast and well beyond were slated to play through the three-day festival, which featured all things medical cannabis, including clinicians, caregivers and marijuana growers.

Non-medical marijuana vendors also lined the bucolic venue as festivalgoers sipped on beers, puffed on marijuana cigarettes or munched on medibles (edible marijuana) and relaxed on lawn chairs as they enjoyed the music.

The festival at the corner of Shapleigh and Center roads concludes today.
