One-day boating safety course set for Aug. 26 in Sanford

SANFORD, Maine - A single-day Boating Safety course will be held at St. George Episcopal Church in Sanford on Aug. 26.

The course will cover boating terms, types and proper selection, traveling tips and techniques for launching, safety equipment, docking, heavy seas, navigation rules, buoy systems and emergency procedures.

The course fee is just $35.

St. George's is located on Main Street.

The course is presented by the U.S. Coast Guard Saco Bay Flotilla 24.
