Paul R. Toof ... ran Toof's Auto Body

FROSTPROOF, Fla. - Paul R. Toof, 78, of Frostproof, Fla., died peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and beloved dogs Dixie and Rebel.
Born March 17, 1938, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of Herman and Louise (Dallaire) Toof. Paul was a lifelong resident of Rochester and later in life, Frostproof, Florida, where he retired with his wife, Ann Toof (Day).
Paul was employed for 10 years at Towle Auto Body of Rochester before opening his own business, Toof's Auto Body, which he owned and operated for 35 years. Paul enjoyed keeping busy, after retiring to Florida, he set out to keep active by working at the Lake Wales Country Club and later Camper World, where he made many lifelong friends. Paul was a member of the American Legion Memorial Post 71 Lake Wales and served in the United States Army.
Paul had a contagious smile, he was a caring, kind, sweet man with a great sense of humor. When he wasn't residing in Florida, he enjoyed spending time at his summer lake home in New Durham with his family. Family was very important to Paul. Not a day went by where he didn't speak to one of them or share a story about days gone by.
Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Toof of Frostproof, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Kim Toof of Lake Wales, Fla.; and Jeffrey and Stacy Toof of Rochester, N.H.; daughters and sons-in-laws, Cheryl and Wade Evans of New Durham, N.H.; Darlene and Thomas Leighton of Farmington, N.H.; Lisa and Mark Pawnell of Gonic, N.H.; he is also survived by his brother Jonathan Toof of Port Townsend, Wash.; sisters Cheryl Pinkham, Cathy Moody, and sister and brother-in-law Laurie and George Wormstead, all of Dover; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
