ROCHESTER - Philip O. Belanger died peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Colonial Hill Center in Rochester following a short battle with cancer. He spent his day surrounded by family and friends. He was the son of Ovila Belanger and Florence Gagne. He is predeceased by his parents, brother's Leon Landry, Jr., and Maurice Belanger, and a sister Diana L. Terrio.
Phil was born in Berlin, N.H., on August 24, 1952, relocated to Somersworth in 1968 and graduated from Somersworth High School in 1970. He worked at the General Electric Company in Somersworth and operated a logging and excavation business from his home in Lebanon, Maine. Most recently he worked at Contitech in Somersworth.
He enjoyed hunting and camping in the North Country and he returned to favorite spots in northern New Hampshire every chance he had. He helped so many people in so many ways and all who knew him enjoyed his great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all but will never be forgotten.
Phil leaves two sisters, Olive and husband Ron Morest of Wells, Maine, and Marie Landry of Somersworth, brothers Paul Belanger and wife Janet of Austel, Ga., and Robert D. Landry, daughters Rebecca Libby and husband Bill, Melissa Stemp and husband Josh of North Petersburgh, N.Y., and Kelly Armstrong of North Carolina, six grand children, and many nieces and nephews, also his longtime best friend, Mark Boisvert.
